Reliability Engineer
Mission.
As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will join the Maintenance & Reliability team (Global Engineering & Technology) at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Geel, Belgium. You will focus on improving asset performance, reducing operational risks, and developing long-term reliability strategies within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams.
Challenges we trust you with
- Lead and facilitate complex equipment failure investigations, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Analyze maintenance, operational, and process data to identify reliability trends, performance gaps, and technical bottlenecks.
- Translate data-driven insights into asset improvement strategies and long-term investment proposals.
- Optimize preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
- Challenge existing maintenance strategies and identify opportunities to improve equipment availability, reliability, and lifecycle performance.
- Develop and implement technical improvement initiatives across the site.
- Apply reliability engineering best practices, including RCA, FMEA, RCM, and predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Represent the Maintenance & Reliability team within multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
Required profile.
Master’s degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline such as Chemistry or Physics, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Asset Management, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering, maintenance optimization, and asset lifecycle management.
- Practical experience with RCA, FMEA, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and predictive/condition-based maintenance.
- Good knowledge of Excel and experience with CMMS platforms, such as SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent.
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment is an advantage.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Python, or similar data analytics tools is an asset.
